What is a NIPT 1?
NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Test) analyses tiny fragments of your baby's DNA that circulate in your blood from about 10 weeks of pregnancy. From a single blood draw, with no risk to the baby, it screens for the common chromosomal conditions (Down syndrome/T21, Edwards/T18, Patau/T13) far more accurately than the marker tests, and can also report the baby's sex.
