We built the lab we wanted for our own family.

LabONE Diagnostics is a pathology lab in Dehradun. We run your routine tests in our own lab, have a pathologist check every report, and make sure a real doctor is there to explain what your results mean. That is the whole idea, and most of what follows is just us keeping to it.

Why we exist

Most labs hand you a number and move on.

You give a sample, you get a sheet of numbers, and you are left to make sense of it on your own. Next year, the lab does not remember you. The reference ranges are a mystery, the abnormal values are frightening, and there is no one to call.

We did not want to run that kind of lab. We wanted a place that stays with a family over time, that explains a result in plain words, and that treats a test as the beginning of a relationship rather than the end of a transaction. A report should leave you clearer than you were, not more worried.

That is what the name carries. Test nahi, rishta. Not a test, a relationship. It is a high standard to hold, and we would rather be measured against it than against anyone else.

How we work

Your sample stays in our hands.

The more a sample changes hands, the more can go wrong. So we keep the work close and we are honest about the parts we send out.

Our own lab in Dehradun

Routine tests are processed in our own lab on Biosystems and Nihon Kohden analysers. Fewer hand-offs between collection and result, and quality we control ourselves.

A pathologist checks every report

No result leaves the lab until a pathologist has reviewed it. The report you receive has been read by a person, not only a machine.

A LabONE doctor talks you through your report on WhatsApp, free, so you understand what each value means and what to do next.

We tell you where each test was run

A few advanced assays are run at a partner reference lab. Your report always says where each test was performed. Nothing is hidden.

What we will not do

We will not claim an accreditation we have not earned.
We will not push a test you do not need.
We will not share your report with anyone but you and the family member you name.

When we earn an accreditation, we will show you the certificate. Until then, we would rather say nothing than say something we cannot stand behind.

A note from our Lab Director

In a city like Dehradun, a lab's name travels by word of mouth. People come because a neighbour or a relative sent them. They are handing you something private, and often something they are anxious about. I do not take that lightly.

So the standard I ask of our team is simple. Treat every sample as if it belonged to someone in your own family, because here, more often than not, it does. Read the report before it goes out. Pick up the phone when someone does not understand a value. Charge the same fair price to a stranger that you would to a friend.

We are not the biggest lab in Dehradun, and we are not trying to be. We are trying to be the one a family can rely on, this year and the next, for the small tests and the frightening ones. If we manage that, the rest takes care of itself.
